Nothing much happened today. We all slept in late today as all of us went to bed rather late the previous night and of course, due to the long journey from Singapore all the way to Wuhan, China.
We met up at around noon for our lunch together. After meeting up, we were told that it was free and easy day for us. So we could go walk around and shop around to where we desire. After walking some distance, my slippers “gave up” on me as it tears apart. So I have to walk very slowly together with my friends.
After some time, most of us sat down at one of the stores along the shop houses for our lunch. I ordered fried rice for lunch today for about RMB8 which is around SGD$2, which I am unable to finish as it was rather a big plate. Though I am unable to finish the whole plate of fried rice, it was rather nice and tasty! It was a pity.
After having our lunch, we went around the row of shop houses to see if there is anything that catches our eyes. There was nothing much along the row of shop houses. So we decided to get some stuffs for our hostel room as we have nothing else in our rooms except beds and tables. Thus, we bought stuffs like water flask, towels, mineral water, etc.
After buying the stuff that was necessary, my friends and I headed back to our hostel rooms to rest and to do some area cleaning while the rest of the group decided to carry on with their shopping trip and enjoy their day off.
While we were in the room, we heard a knock on our door and guess what? Here comes our internet router and cables! We finally have access to internet after we settled down in the hostel. Thus, after we collected the router and cables, we set them up, and tried to access the internet.
Time flies. It was soon dinner time. Therefore, we headed out to get our dinner. We walked down the blocks of shop houses and food shops; we finally decided to have KFC for dinner. The KFC over here in China is definitely very different from Singapore. Besides being cheaper, they do have a totally different set of menu which they are offering as compared to what we usually see back home in Singapore.
After getting our dinner, we headed back to our hostel room to slowly savour and enjoy the food we had just bought.
After dinner, we went for our showers and after which, we spend quite alot of time writing up our blogs, uploading photos and of course, keeping up and contacting with all of our families and friends back home!
Thats all for today! Here are some interesting photos which I took along the way. Click to enlarge. More photos will be uploaded on my facebook! Enjoy! :D
My Reflections:
As the Chinese saying goes, “在家靠父母,出外靠朋友”, which means when we are at home, we rely on our family. When we are at out we rely on our friends. Personally for me, I feel that it is definitely true. Take this Overseas Immersion Programme for example; being so far away from home, we have to depend on ourselves as well as our friends who are all around us. Supporting each other as we go along, helping one another. However, the experience which we are all going to achieve at the end of this Overseas Immersion Programme is definitely priceless and is something which we will treasure and look back upon as great memories which we will never regret participating.
